
Suzanne Pleshette, born January 31, 1937, died January 19 the 19th of January, 2008. She was an American film voice actress, voice actor and television host. Pleshette began her theatre career and was in films by the late 1950s. In later years, she was an actor of note in films such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). She later appeared in various television shows, usually in guest roles. She played Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978, and received several Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was born on January 31, 1937, in the New York City neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, to Geraldine (nee Kaplan)[1] and Eugene Pleshette. The parents of her were Jewish as were the children of immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was a dancer and artist who performed on stage under the name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was a stage director in both the Paramount Theater and Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
